The Regular Meeting of the Lingle Town Council convened at 7:30 p.m., August 20, 2008 with Mayor Walter leading the pledge of allegiance.  Upon roll call, the following were present, constituting a quorum:

CM Brown moved to approve the council agenda as presented.  CM Gilchriest offered a second and the measure carried without dissent.

CM Welte moved to approve the minutes of the 6 August regular council meeting as published.  CM Gilchriest voiced a second and the motion passed unanimously.

PO Berry updated the council on the three-day training seminar he and PC Elwood attended in Cheyenne recently.  They also plan to take part in the Kid Safe program at the Goshen County Fairgrounds on 6 September.

Mayor Walter reported on behalf of FC Wells that the LVFD has received their new quick attack fire truck chassis and will be taking it to Florida in the near future to have the fire-fighting package installed.

TA Knudsen informed the council of performing the lease papers for the school swimming pool lease and updating some other paperwork for the municipal court.

CT Kendall presented the financial report for July and placed it on file.  He also informed the council of the renewal of the property insurance coverage with a slight premium increase.

The council discussed the purchase of pool covers for the two swimming pools but decided to conduct more research before taking any action.

Mayor Walter adjourned the meeting at 7:57 p.m.
